Returning to Lapland after being at home was a strange notion and also a strange feeling. It was weird how little time it had taken me to slip back into everything in the UK. After being in Lapland for four months and getting regular updates about work, any family news and anything big going on with my friends I thought it'd take me a while to get used to. I'd slipped back into it almost immediately and it went by in a flash.
The first week or so being back in Rovaniemi felt very surreal. It felt like I'd barely left but at the same time I was so comfortable with my routine and my life back home I felt somewhat unsettled. It's taken a few weeks for me to become readjusted and get back to the Lapland life. But all in all I'm quite content to be back. Gradually I'm getting into the swing of things.
With a few trips planned and being planned this semester has plenty to both occupy me and surprise me, which I'm very excited for. My modules are all starting within the next few weeks and I'm excited for the new challenges that face me during my last few months in Lapland.
